The workshop was informative and easy-to-follow, carried out in a fun relaxing environment.  I've also learned how to formulate my own natural products that work best for my skin.

Chamomile is an age-old medicinal herb known in ancient Egypt. It’s been used since ancient times for their calming and anti-inflammatory, soothing properties. The plant's healing properties come from its daisy-like flowers, which contain oils including bisabolol, bisabolol oxides A and B, and matricin, as well as flavonoids and other therapeutic substances.

In Cosmetics

Chamomile has been used for centuries in skin care formulations. Chamomile flowers are a soothing additive for irritated skin, eczema, psoriasis and hemorrhoids. To make a gentle but absorbent body powder, grind chamomile flowers and combine with arrowroot powder, white kaolin clay, cornstarch, grounded lavender buds and grounded calendula.

Uses for Chamomile Flowers include (but are not limited to):

  • Infused oils (the basis for salves, balms and creams)
  • Bath teas / herbal baths / salts
  • Milk baths
  • Body wraps
  • Facial steams
  • Facial masks: Make a tea then mix the tea with clay and other dry ingredients.
  • Hair rinse to lighten blonde hair.
  • After sun lotion
  • Massage oil
